Not really. Even though you can customize crap the ''loot'' it takes to customize strong abilities only drop on stronger opponents. Weak loot drops from weak monsters, medium loot drops from medium monsters, great loot drops on really tough monsters.
Your best bet of getting stronger is just grinding and moving along the sphere grid until later in the game. I mean by the time I could actually add good abilities to my weapons my guys were already doing 9999 damage and its pretty worthless to add 35-38% extra strength onto that since its capped.
I would go ask on the ff10 boards though. They have guys (still there) who have dissected every nanobit of that game and could have different advice.
Yeah after awhile new places become hard but if you just push through and grind a little along the way you will be able to back track and own area's and have a really easy time capturing monsters and stuff. final fantasy 10 weapons and armour
^ somewhat true, however there are ''damage limit breaks'' you can get on final weapons towards the end of the game that lets you go past 9999 damage
nope but my advice to u issave ur cash so when u get closer to the end of the game and u want Yojimbothats an aeon in case u didnt know he charges you so he could attack T_Tand u have to give up a lot of cash to get him but trust me its worth it
