The final battle in Final Fantasy Tactics. Tried showcasing the game to a friend using a save file at that point and coulc not get past the boss whatsoever.
Plenty of games on the NES: Fester's Quest, Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania to name a few although I did beat Castlevania a while back once I really sat down and tried.Earthworm Jim and Incantation on the SNES
Just yesterday I played through Alex Kidd on SMS and got done in by Janken. I only managed to hit him once and lost like 4 lives in the process. To be fair, I only passed that game like once as a kid.
the only one in particular i can think of is River City Ransom. but its probably because i don't have the time i had as a kid to sit and play it for like 6 hours straight. when i originally beat the game, me and my cousin stayed up all night long and drank a whole case of Coke!! now i'm in bed by 10 and drinking Diet Coke. =(
