AMAZING GAME. I thought I was the only one in the world obsessed with the game, actually I love the entire series. I could play that multi-player capture the flag game all day. All freakin' day.
Yup, I played it back in the day it was pretty awesome from what I remember.

I got it when I was younger. Full cleared it. Fairly entertaining game, definetly one of the better vehicle-related games I've played, mainly due to the need to break the other cars. Always good!

If you're a fan of destruction racers in general though, I'd reccomend Destruction Derby 2, for the Playstation 1 and Test Drive: Eve of Destruction for the PS2 or XBOX. Both are great games that offer different perspectives on the very niche genre. There's also a Destruction Derby game on the PS2. Not quite as good as the others I mentioned, but still not bad if you can find it.

I dont know about the n64 version....but the only one worth playing on the playstation is DD1. The ones after that are horrable abominations. Seeing how the n64 version came out 4 years after the original it probably isnt very similar either.

DD1 > Burnout Revenge(maybe 3? never played that version) > Flatout series....

I consider burnout to be the truest successor to DD. The thing the DD did the best was car damage and burnout does a killer job with car damage. Flatout 1-2 arent as good as DD or Burnout but I think they are pretty damn fun.

I dont think Burnout knows what kind of awesomeness they are sitting on, dumb down the racing and upgrade the explosions. That was so cool how Burnout influenced those one guys who made Heat Seeker. That is a buggy glitchy air combat game but the explosions were definately cooler than Ace Combat. I would love to see a sequel of Heat Seeker where the ratchet up the explosions and downplay the fighting.....

I dont think enough games gives you those kind of instant gratifications like in those games. To many -------- cry over games like manhunt or doom so its nice to see it in other genre's. I would love for a game like Armored Core or SLAI to take on this quality.
Played it on the PS1, it was awesome and absolutely amazing after coming from the crappy 16 bit era.
I've played it for the PC, but not for the N64. It's OK, but not much more, imo.
