I've play just about all Sonics and Marios and I've played all the Jak games too, I don't know about ratchet and clank (it doesn't look as funny as Jak and Daxter) I was thinking something on the line of pandemonium that kind.Any great old school platformers (beside ...

Not really a playformer but get a friend and play streets of rage 1 and 2. Pretty fun, although the sound quality is pretty bad..thats sega for you.
oh and demolition man was oddly fun, just make sure you play it on normal. If you play it on easy halfway through the game it laughs at you and tells you to play normal if you wanna play the full game.
Mega man...the whole freaking seris
Yoshi's Story is actually an N64 game, but yeah, it is pretty good if you don't mind it being a little kiddy.
If you got an N64 Super Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64, along with the Banjo Kazooie games, are absolute must-haves. But ESPECIALLY Donkey Kong 64. IMO, that was the best freakin' game I ever played, no exceptions.
3 Words. Rocket Knight Adventures. Awesome platformer to play. :D
try out ratchetif you're looking for an old school platformer i'd say get the 1st. the 3rd one is best but its much more shooting focused. you might want to check out the sly cooper series. there's also the crash series. there are 3 on the ps1, that most people agree are great games. theres wrath of cortex (ps2)which is pretty fun and under rated imo. crash twinsanity(ps2) also got decent reviews and sounds fun (havent played it)
Klonoa - Door to Phantomile for the PS1 was a great platformer.
Klonoa - Door to Phantomile for the PS1 was a great platformer.
Thats a good one plus the sequal for playstation 2 was awesome as well. Also the Sly cooper series and Maximo were pretty good for playstaton 2. Other games that havn't been mentions would be like Ristar, Dynamite Heady, and Bubsy for genesis. Spyro the dragons? I mean I could go on all day about at least solid good platform games on just about every system.
2D- Bonk's Adventure series, Bubsy, Adventure Island series, Wonder Boy series, Duck Tales series, Rescue Rangers series3D- Syro series
I'll give you a personal recommendation for Super Ghoul's 'N Ghosts, perhaps the most difficult platformer on the face of the Earth.
