Best Action RPGs!

HI there people. Im not such a hardcore gamer, but i really like rpg, but i never decide myself to start one (only FF 4, 7, POkemons,a few MMORPGs and others but not many). Then i discovered Fable, which i can say its defenetly my type of game, cuz it has a lot of RPG elements (more would've been better, of course) but it wasnt tedious like JRPS, dont like turn based battles and playing the same game for 120+ hours only to say i did play it, most times, i just leave it. So what kind of game like the ones im describing can you suggest me?I also liked the Oblivion, ut preffer 1000 times Fable combat system. And plz, no pure hack and slash rpgs, i like those less than turn-based ones. Hope you can help me, been hoping to find something for years. BTW, something in ps2, ps3 or PC (no so modern, right now cant handle a game like The WItcher which looks a lot like what i want.. :S)Best Action RPGs!
so i give you some recommendations for different systems:(this is not a complete list...these are only titles which comes to my mind currently) all these games have realtime fights... i myself dont like turn based battle. for snes:legend of zelda - link to the past illusion of time (aka illuison of gaia...)
secret of mana 1+2 (up to 3 players)secret of evermore
terranigma for n64:zelda - ocarina of timezelda - majoras mask for psx:alundra (its also comical top down view)alundra 2 (3rd person) for ps2: (all these games offer a lot of fun with 2 player mode) baldurs gate:dark alliance 1baldurs gate: dark alliance 2 champions of norrathchampions: return to arms for pc:sudeki (i think you will like it....3rd person...) forgotten realms: demon stone (havent tested this game...but maybe you like it...its a short hack n slay with good graphics but not much rpg elements) Best Action RPGs!
Nice list. I would def. recommend Dark Alliance, and Champions also. If you really like action RPG's than I'm sure you will like those.
Any Zelda game is great, Secret of Mana is one of my all time favorites. For PS2 you want to check out Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2. If you were into Oblivion then you should play Morrowind as well.
Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Dark Cloud 1 and 2, and Rogue Galaxy.
KOTOR
Pure hack n slash rpg?? What is that. You should also add .Hack 1-4,, .Hack GU 1-3, Phantasy Star Universe, Valkyrie Profile 2 to the playstation 2 list. Kingdom Hearts 1-2 and Dark Cloud 2 are also extremely awesome for ps2.
I think you would like Two Worlds also
i would not recomend sudeki, i have it and have not enjoyed it very much.but if you've got a snes laying around i would suggest soulblazerbeyond oasis on genesis and legend of oasis on saturn are both very good nowadays though, virtually anything that you play is some sort of action rpg, like grand theft auto has many rpg elements, well... as much as an ''action rpg'' anyway. that particular genre has not always been a welcome addition to the rpg family.
oooh, forgot about parasite eve, my only complaint with that one was that it was very short.
champions: return to arms and baldurs gate: dark alliance are awesome action rpgs!!!

It payed back in its solid presentation tough. def one of my fafourite PS1 games never played another rpg that drew me in with the character(s) like that.

For the PS2 the action RPG i personally enjoyed the most was valkyrie profile: silmeria - very flexible combat system, cant treat it as a buttonmasher or the game will kick your ass.

You say that you are looking for a combat system similar to a MMO then you might like like FFXII, personally i HATED its automated combat but hey diverent strokes for diverent folks
